Alex Atakorah is currently the Managing Director of Amaris Terminal and the Chief Operating Officer of the Technical and Logistics Group, a cluster within the Jospong Group of Companies. As COO for the Technical and Logistics Group, Alex oversees 16 business entities in various sectors of operations in auto and plant, logistics and supply chain, building and construction, public safety, mining and farming and manufacturing in Ghana and some African countries.
He is an experienced business leader with more than a decade experience and a proven track record of success in Terminal/Port Management, Operations Management, Change Management, Project Management, Logistics & Supply Chain in various countries in Africa and Europe.
Alex has held numerous management positions over the years such as Project Implementation Manager, APM Terminals (Liberia) in 2014, Operations Planning Manager, APM Terminals in Georgia (formerly part of USSR) in 2012 where he worked on the $90milion Poti Seaport development and expansion project. He was Deputy Operations Manager (APM Terminals, Liberia, 2011) and Terminal Gate Operations Manager (Meridian Ports Services, Tema, 2010).
Alex is a strong business development professional with a Master of Arts in Information Technology from the University of Nottingham, England) and Bachelor of Arts in Law & Sociology from KNUST, Ghana. He is also a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
He possesses a servant-leader quality with strong ambition, drive, and excellence. During his tenure in Amaris he has been able to steer a start-up business into a promising new sector. Amaris is an example of how to build a greenfield project using solid fundamentals, strong controls, and attention to business drivers.
